Experience I've been working in construction for the last 10+ years, most of that in DFW. I recognize the need for immigrants in our industry and our economy. I know how to handle budgets (from $5 Million to $100 Million) and tight schedules.

We need to increase funding for public schools so that the cost of living does not out-pace state funding. These funds should 100% be utilized for public schools, not vouchers that can be used for private institutions.
Like a lot of other facilities or services, more funding is required to improve these facilities and pay for qualified individuals to work with these services. Just like the state is firm in its stance on being "pro-life" up until birth, we should keep supporting the life of every Texan that ends up within the system. We should be looking at ways to promote their learning and sense of belonging, so that they may grow to be successful members of our communities. I will support all legislation that increases funding and access to resources for these facilities.
I think we should allow access to our state for those immigrants that want to come work and support our economy. As a construction industry professional, I can tell you that our need for a greater workforce is always present. Why not fill these roles with willing immigrant workers that will only strengthen our economy? Of course, this does not mean allowing everyone in just because they want to work. Proper background checks should be done, that allow us to identify those with violent records and keep them from immediately coming into this state.
Funding for rural hospitals is absolutely essential; we're already hearing about hospitals closing in these areas because funding is decreasing. I believe that legislation that provides public and private healthcare for our residents is a great way to have the best of both worlds.
Make these data corporations solely pay these costs, without passing then along to neighboring residents. Having these corporations present puts a strain on existing utilities, and it prioritizes their access to them. Why not have these same corporations invest in renewable resources that provide them with their needed utilities, while providing any excess resources to their neighbors? This way, they won't tap into our existing utilities, while they establish new sources of power, effectively lowering the strain and price for these essentials.
Tighter restrictions are needed for industrial, commercial, and agricultural users. These big players should be looking at reusing a lot of the water they need, instead of wasting it and consuming more of what is needed by residents. Residents should still have caps on usage to promote responsible use.
We've proven time and time again that there is no fair or proper way to redraw districts. We already have county lines; why not use these same lines for our district boundaries? Of course, urban areas may require several districts within one county, so there are exceptions. For example, we can have 3 or more (house) districts in Dallas county, while other rural (house) districts envelop 3 or more counties. Something similar can be done for state Senate districts and congressional districts.
The governments role should not dictate curriculum or place limits on any form of free speech. Our public institutions are places where every mind should be allowed to thrive without the fear of being targeted over their views.
Transgender and other LGBTQ+ people are no different than the rest of us. They require the same protections we have because they are the same as us. My stance is to strike down any existing legislation that unfairly targets any members of our community.
I think gun safety is still a big issue. Mass shootings still make headlines regularly. The 89 legislation passed a Bill that outlaws buy-back programs for firearms. I aim to repeal this irresponsible Bill so that we can work to remove firearms from irresponsible gun-owners. As a gun owner, I want to keep honoring the rights of responsible gun owners.
