I bring a lifetime of public service, executive leadership, and proven local government experience to the office of Sumter County Commissioner. I served more than 30 years as a firefighter, paramedic, and flight paramedic before joining AdventHealth in executive leadership. As your County Commissioner, I have focused on fiscal responsibility, responsible growth, infrastructure, and transparent government. I also serve on several regional boards and earned the Advanced County Commissioner II (ACC II) designation through the University of Florida and Florida Association of Counties. My experience, education, and commitment to conservative leadership prepare me to continue serving the citizens of Sumter County with integrity and accountability
If approved by voters, Amendment 3 will require counties to prioritize core constitutional responsibilities while protecting taxpayers. I support conservative budgeting, eliminating waste, improving efficiency, and ensuring every tax dollar is spent wisely. Sumter County has maintained a strong financial position through responsible fiscal management, and I will continue advocating for balanced budgets, long-term planning, and disciplined spending. I will work to preserve essential public safety, infrastructure, and critical services while pursuing grants, strategic partnerships, and sustainable economic growth to minimize the impact on taxpayers without compromising our quality of life.
I believe the best decisions are made when citizens have a meaningful opportunity to participate before decisions are finalized. I will continue to be accessible, listen respectfully to all viewpoints, encourage public input through community meetings and direct communication, and ensure information is transparent and readily available. I will carefully consider citizen feedback alongside applicable laws, facts, fiscal responsibility, and the long-term interests of Sumter County. My commitment is to make informed, principled decisions that reflect both community values and sound public policy.
It has been the honor of my life to serve the citizens of Sumter County. I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me and proud of what we have accomplished together. I believe my experience in public safety, executive leadership, and county government, combined with a proven record of fiscal responsibility, transparency, and conservative leadership, make me the most qualified candidate to continue serving as your County Commissioner. I respectfully ask for your vote so we can continue working together to protect our community, manage growth responsibly, and preserve the quality of life that makes Sumter County a wonderful place to call home.

I am not a career politician. I come from work, discipline, and responsibility. Football taught me teamwork, preparation, and how to take a hit and keep moving. Corrections training taught me chain of command, situational awareness, staying calm under pressure, and treating people firmly but fairly. Working regular jobs taught me what it feels like when every dollar matters. I bring common sense, accountability, and the willingness to study the details, ask hard questions, and explain county decisions in plain English.
If voters approve Amendment 3, the county has to respect that decision and adjust responsibly. My first step would be a legally noticed series of rotating town halls and budget workshops across the county, including The Villages, Wildwood, Bushnell, Webster, Lake Panasoffkee, Coleman, and other communities. I want residents to see the real numbers, the required services, the optional spending, and the tradeoffs before decisions are made.
The priority should be core county services: public safety, emergency response, road capacity, mobility, infrastructure, and responsible growth planning. In The Villages, that includes traffic flow, golf cart and vehicle safety, emergency access, and making sure growth does not overload the system. In rura
People should not have to decode government. I support plain-language agenda summaries, earlier public notice on major items, rotating town halls, and public follow-up reports showing what was promised, who is responsible, and what happened next. The community should be brought in before major decisions are already baked. Better public input leads to better decisions, fewer surprises, and more trust.
I am running because Sumter County needs commissioners who listen, show up, and remember who pays the bills. I believe in limited government, fiscal discipline, public safety, and growth that fits the capacity of the community. I am not against growth, but I am against growth that leaves residents stuck with the bill, the traffic, or the consequences. My goal is simple: make county government easier to understand, harder to manipulate, and more accountable to the people it serves.
