As a board-certified pediatrician, pediatric emergency medicine physician, healthcare executive, educator, and small business owner, I have more than 15 years of leadership experience serving Central Florida. I have managed multimillion-dollar healthcare organizations, overseen budgets, led multidisciplinary teams, and made critical decisions under pressure. My background in medicine, public health, and economics provides a strong foundation for addressing responsible growth, fiscal stewardship, public safety, healthcare access, and infrastructure. I am committed to transparent, accountable leadership and ensuring Lake County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
First, we need to determine the reduction in revenue the County would face. The specific impact will depend on the amount of revenue lost and the County's overall financial condition. I believe the property tax reduction would benefit homestead property owners and would not result in a substantial reduction in revenue for local schools and other essential services. I also believe the County will continue to experience economic growth, with additional commercial development, new businesses, and population growth broadening the tax base over time. This continued growth will help balance the County's revenue.
Sound public decisions begin with listening. I believe in engaging residents early through town halls, community meetings, advisory committees, and online surveys so they have meaningful opportunities to participate before decisions are made. I also believe government should be transparent by providing clear information about proposals, budgets, and their potential impacts. While public input is essential, decisions should also be guided by facts, fiscal responsibility, and long-term planning. Most importantly, elected officials should communicate how community feedback influenced the final decision so residents know their voices were heard.
Lake County's population has grown rapidly, increasing demand for healthcare services. As the population grows, local leaders will need to work with healthcare providers, hospitals, and community organizations to help ensure residents have access to timely medical care, including primary care, specialty care, and emergency services. With my experience, I will continue to strengthen partnerships with hospitals, healthcare organizations, physicians, and medical practices to enhance service delivery and address the evolving healthcare needs of our community.

I have served Lake County through fast growth, tough budgets, conservation decisions, road needs, and public safety challenges. I bring practical experience as a County Commissioner, small business owner with a good reputation, environmental professional, and community volunteer. I have kept taxes low, supported public safety, protected water resources, advanced conservation, and pushed for better planning so growth pays more of its own way. I listen, ask hard questions, and work for results that protect families, neighborhoods, and Lake County’s quality of life.
I will inform and be honest. If Amendment 3 passes, Lake County must protect taxpayers and core services at the same time. My approach would be clear-eyed and disciplined: prioritize public safety, roads, emergency services, water resources, and essential county functions; review every department for efficiencies; delay or reduce lower-priority spending; protect reserves; and avoid shifting the burden onto families through hidden fees. I support property tax relief, but it must be implemented responsibly so residents still have safe neighborhoods, reliable roads, and essential services.
Good decisions start before the public hearing. I will continue meeting residents where they are including HOAs, civic groups, businesses, churches, community events, and neighborhood meetings so people are heard early, not after decisions feel made. I support clear information, plain-language explanations, open workshops, and respectful public comment. People may not always agree, but they deserve to know the facts, understand the tradeoffs, and see that their voices matter.
I love Lake County and believe our best days are ahead if we protect what makes this place special. I am pro-family, pro-public safety, pro-small business, pro-conservation, and pro-responsible growth. I have not been afraid to say no to bad development or ask tough questions when a project does not fit. My commitment is steady leadership, keeping taxes low, protecting water and rural character, improving roads, supporting first responders, and making sure Lake County remains a place our children can be proud to call home.
