For 30 years, I have proudly served the La Crosse community as an Assistant District Attorney. This extensive career has uniquely qualified me to transition from prosecutor to judge. I possess a deep mastery of the law and the proven ability to evaluate evidence with the impartiality and rigor expected of a judge. Having participated in court hearings nearly every day for three decades, I have the temperament and technical expertise to hit the ground running on day one. My commitment to this role is rooted in a genuine care for our community and a dedication to ensuring fair, efficient justice and accountability for everyone who lives and works in La Crosse.
I hold a deep-seated respect for the rule of law, and a comprehensive understanding of how each courtroom role ensures just outcomes. My extensive background as a trial attorney provides the technical expertise necessary to manage hearings efficiently and according to strict legal protocol. Judicial responsibility is not just about efficiency though. It is also about respect for the people appearing in court. I am committed to the principle that every individual deserves the opportunity to be heard. In my current role, I have refined the ability to listen with patience and empathy to victims and concerned citizens—a skill I will bring to the bench to ensure La Crosse Municipal Court remains a fair and accessible forum for all.
I believe the court's priority must be to provide a transparent process where everyone feels heard. My vision for this role is to use the bench as a tool for positive change—developing solutions to ordinance violations that prioritize a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all who call La Crosse home.
