The Town of Onalaska has been growing in residents with new developments and attracting businesses to the Brice Prairie area. To continue with developing this, we need to work with La Crosse County Plan Commission and develop resources that can be handed to potential businesses looking to expand.
The Town has a great appeal to residents with the Village of Holmen School district that has proven to be a great place to send your kids to school. Expanding resources to developers and realtors that would highlight this along with the natural beauty of this area to build a home or buy. The town has lower taxes than our neighboring communities, which is a plus for many buyers. We are in close proximity to major highways for ease of traveling. All of these could be used key points for a printed resource.
- Boundary Agreement between City of Onalaska and the Village of Holmen will expire in 2026.
- Timely Communication to our residents; possible 2 x per year newsletters
- Responsive leadership: develop policies and procedures that would accomplish this that are not in place currently
- Open Communication: regular staff meetings with office and town crew
- Shared ideas and thoughts on how to better our Town
- Closer working relationship with our Town Administrator
- Collaboration with neighboring Villages and Towns. Shared ideas and thoughts.
- Designate as needed to other elected supervisors responsibilities where they have a passion and experience
- Part-time Town Administrator
- Two deputy clerks
- Committees that have representation from elected supervisors and town residents
