As federal funding vanishes and community needs rise, Dane County faces a "perfect storm" of soaring costs and stagnant state aid. This threatens vital services and burdens our dedicated employees.

To address the 2027 deficit, department directors must exhaustively review operations. They must provide the County Executive and Board with clear options that distinguish between essential mandates and discretionary programs. This process will be difficult; we must prioritize collaborative, data-driven decisions to protect our fiscal health without losing sight of our core mission to the community
In 2024, Dane County released a Housing Crisis Strategic Action Plan. I appreciate these efforts and support the actions outlined.

Highlights include expanding funding for housing projects, land banking, supporting community land trusts, and public education. We should increase rural infrastructure funding, continue assisting with best practices for zoning updates, and look at selling public land for affordable housing.

Beyond these efforts, I believe we must increase support services for our unhoused population to truly address the scale of this crisis.
My constituents want fiscal responsibility, environmental protection, and criminal justice reform. Amid funding shifts and budget pressures, I will use my experience navigating complex trade-offs to protect services through data-driven solutions.

I’ll leverage my role on the Lakes and Watershed Commission to protect water quality and parks, advocating for climate-resilient, sustainable infrastructure. Finally, justice reform requires deep engagement. I am committed to building relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure decisions are equitable and reflect our shared values.
My public service began in Hoboken, NJ, where I chaired the Planning Board, managing rapid development. My wife, Sandi, and I have lived in Spring Harbor since 2013. I served on Madison's Council from 2018–2023, including a year as President. Since late 2024, I have represented District 10 on the Dane County Board. My experience navigating Council budget deficits prepared me for our current challenges.

As a tech consultant and former Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at CenterX, I value stakeholder input and relationship building. These roles have sharpened my ability to find pragmatic, data-driven solutions to difficult problems and create lasting change for our community.
