Please introduce yourself and explain why you are running for City of Appleton Alderperson.

What do you think are the top two challenges for the City of Appleton and how do you propose to address these as an alderperson?

What role do you believe the city should have in promoting a wide variety of housing options to meet the needs of all citizens? Why do you believe that?

In your opinion, what is the status of Appleton as an open and welcoming community that is attractive to a diverse population (color, creed, sexual orientation, immigration status)? What does Appleton do well and where can we improve?

Tax rates and tax levies are always important issues for voters. What ideas do you have for balancing quality services and funding them?

Hello, my name is Nate Wolff, and I’m proud to be the Vice President of the Appleton common council. I have served on common council since 2020 and in this time, I have seen our city grow into something beautiful. However, we still have challenges ahead of us and I look forward to tackling them.
Affordable housing is one of the most important things, we need to plan smaller lot sizes in new developments so that developers can build smaller homes. We also need the Appleton housing Authority to get their act together. The second is rising costs to provide the services that we provide as a city while maintaining our current debt service. This one is more on the state frankly we have done a good job on this to this point but with inaction of the state assembly and senate we can only wait.
I think it's important to ensure our zoning allows for different types of housing both in size and in capacity to be built. I think that without oversight it is likely that Appleton will only build high end homes.
Appleton is an open and welcoming community and should be seen as a safe place to live for people of different backgrounds. We show our support for different communities very well. Something that needs to be improved is the way that people who drive down college Ave interact with pedestrians. The amount of harassment that occurs is ridiculous.
Invest in Technology and automation, implement zero-based budgeting, consolidate services, outcome-based contracting. regular program reviews, prioritize preventive investments. broaden the tax base don't just raise rates. Capture land Value, not just building value. These are just some of the ideas that we have done or in my opinion should do.
