I want to represent District 16 and the residents of Outagamie County and leverage my experience in business and community leadership. The County Board is nonpartisan and I am an Independent. I will rise above partisan politics. I will use the same fact-based common-sense approach that I use in my business career. I advocate for good government and wise spending. I spend the People's money as it if were my own.
Outagamie County is generally well-managed, and I want to do my part to continue this legacy. The County Board needs to balance different county priorities within the current tax levy, and I do not envision a county tax increase. A significant issue going forward could be managing potential cuts in county funding from the state and Federal government.
My career is mostly in corporate operations, supply chain management and R&D. This experience is directly applicable to county government. In my business career I interacted with government agencies. In my nonprofit work I interact with the City of Appleton. Early in my career I worked for the US Department of the Interior doing R&D with the Bureau of Mines. Since I am the incumbent for my County Board seat, I have learned a lot about how the county operates. My focus area has been county programs that support health and human services, such as Brewster Village.
There is a gap in providing basic services such as services for children in crisis. A challenge will be maintaining county service levels in light of inflation. We also need to make smart infrastructure investments such as airport and park improvements. I am a strong supporter of all local law enforcement agencies including the Outagamie County Sheriff's department which the Board oversees.
