I have always felt we all have a civic duty to serve if we can. I am a long time resident of Brookfield, who worked for almost 18 years at multiple organizations in fitness and wellness. I know the community and have been actively engaged in local issues like the proposed city referendum.
Major issues are public safety and fiscal responsibility.
If you don't have public safety, nothing else matters. You make sure you have appropriate police and fire staffing.
Once you have taken care of public safety, you prioritize all other spending based making sound common sense choices.
Essentially, all types of discrimination have been outlawed. Now, that being said, there is nothing wrong with Brookfield being an aspirational city to live in. If your City is a place people want to be living in, that means you are doing your job as an Alderman.
The climate is always changing, evolving, in ways I am not sure we are capable of understanding. Not a local issue.
Fund appropriately and support local law enforcement. Local speeding is a concern, and there needs to be a law enforcement plan to focus on enforcement.
