I am running, unopposed, for my second two-year term. I wanted to run again because I've met amazing people in my district and want to help see worthy projects continue down the pipeline. I originally ran to contribute positively to my new community after moving to Milwaukee in 2022.
Reckless driving is horrendous. I've been handing out free car cellphone holders since January of 2025. I've ordered more for 2026 and added small teddy bears with a message of "I care about safe driving" on the t-shirt to activate even young kids about encouraging safer driving in their families.
I certainly support expanded access to affordable housing - both rental properties and ownership opportunities. Our County has great advocates in the housing area. I'd love to see restrictions of out of state landlords who repeatedly are reported for poor management of properties. I also support programming that prepares those living in our jail and Community Reintegration Center for successful reentry, as well as, examining alternatives to incarceration for individuals deemed fit.
Any kind of common sense gun law would get my attention. We can't do anything though at the County level. Our gun laws are set at the state level. Proper registration, training requirements and destruction of confiscated guns could all play a role in bringing gun violence down.
We already are participating through collaborations with the City and local organizations. We're looking at installing EV chargers at some Park locations. We're looking at solar energy at new builds. I sit on the Committee on Environmental and Economic Development and get reports monthly on projects we are working on that will have green benefits.
