I first ran in 2012 as a young mother, homeowner, and accountant committed to strong, fiscally responsible local government. I served until 2020, honoring a term-limit pledge, and returned via write-in in 2022. I now serve the 2024–2026 term. With over a decade of experience, a background in accounting, municipal administration, and foster care oversight, and lived experience as a special needs foster parent, I bring independent, accountable leadership focused on results.
Major issues include fiscal accountability, rising costs, and ensuring county services deliver real value. I am focused on strengthening oversight of budgeting and procurement, examining inflated public bids, and addressing gaps in our contracting process that create risk and inefficiency. My priority is transparent government, responsible spending, and making sure taxpayer dollars produce measurable results for residents countywide.
Equal opportunity begins with accountable systems. I support practical housing solutions, strong public safety, and workforce standards that reward responsible employers. I will continue pushing for transparent contracting, measurable outcomes, and policies that remove barriers to housing, health, and employment. Residents deserve government that delivers results fairly, efficiently, and without waste.
Public safety requires both accountability and prevention. The County has limited authority over firearm restrictions, but we can support enforcement of existing laws, strengthen recruitment and retention of qualified law enforcement, and improve coordination between courts, human services, and community partners. Investing in mental health access, early intervention, and family stability reduces crime while respecting constitutional rights.
Milwaukee County can participate by aligning practical, cost-effective environmental efforts with measurable outcomes. That includes responsible infrastructure planning, energy efficiency in county facilities, resilient parks and transit systems, and collaboration with municipalities where goals overlap. My priority is ensuring environmental initiatives are fiscally sound, transparent, and deliver clear benefits to residents and taxpayers alike.
