Description of office: The Prothonotary administers the records of civil proceedings of the Court of Common Pleas including, but not limited to, divorces, protection from abuse orders, judgments and liens, evictions, foreclosures, medical malpractice, and any other civil filings. This office also keeps naturalization records and processes passport applications. The Clerk of Courts administers the records of criminal proceedings of the Court of Common Pleas (including adult and juvenile records), collects fines and costs, and accepts bail bonds. In addition to the duties of those two offices, the Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts also maintains the office of Clerk of the Orphans’ Court, handling adoptions, guardianships, estates, and marriage licenses.Term: 4 yearsSalary: $92,685Vote for ONE.
