Township TrusteePursuant to IC 36-6-4-2(a), the trustee is the township executive. Many Township Trustees work at other jobs in addition to serving their constituents.Qualifications:· Must reside within the township.Term: Four years.Duties:Township Trustees can assist those in need by distributing relief and connecting residents to helpful resources when necessary. The Trustee is responsible for submitting an annual budget, paying and recording all financial guidelines according to Indiana Code, and presenting an annual report. Compensation shall be established using an annual, monthly, or biweekly salary schedule. An elected township officer is not required to report hours worked and may not be compensated based on the number of hours worked. (IC 36-6-6-10)
