The Constable is responsible for serving civil process for the Small Claims Court—often delivering difficult news such as debt collection or eviction notices. These situations can lead to emotional or even hostile reactions.

With over 20 years of law enforcement experience, and currently serving as a Detective Sergeant with IMPD, I have spent my career working with people during some of the most difficult moments in their lives—whether as victims, witnesses, or suspects. In every situation, I have treated people with fairness, dignity, and compassion. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Indiana University.
The greatest challenges facing the Constable’s office are ensuring timely and accurate service of court documents, maintaining professionalism in difficult situations, and building public trust.

To address these, I will focus on improving efficiency and accountability in how the office operates, maintaining high standards of professionalism and training, and being accessible and respectful to the community we serve.

With over 21 years of law enforcement experience, I understand the importance of carrying out these responsibilities safely, fairly, and effectively, and I am committed to running the office with integrity and professionalism.
Ensure the Constable’s Office is visible, approachable, and responsive. Provide clear communication about services, maintain accessible contact options, and be available to answer questions and address concerns from residents. I would prioritize the efficient operation of the constable’s office and ensure timely service of papers by serving at different times of the day to best notify constituents.
I expect to encounter individuals in emotional or potentially hostile situations. I will rely on my training and experience as a law enforcement officer, using proven de-escalation techniques to resolve situations in a respectful and professional manner.
I will use this role to restore trust and professionalism to the Constable’s Office. Recent issues involving a constable and deputy in another Indianapolis township have undermined public confidence. I am committed to rebuilding that trust through experienced, accountable, and professional leadership. I will employ well trained, deputy constables who will carry out their duties in a professional and well respected manner.
