I bring a combination of public service leadership, legal process experience, and community engagement that aligns with the duties of Constable. As the elected Center Township Constable, I have experience serving court documents, coordinating evictions lawfully, and ensuring safety and compliance. My background includes work in the Marion Superior Court, law enforcement training, and statewide leadership in youth services. I am committed to professionalism, accountability, and treating all residents with dignity while upholding the law efficiently and fairly.
As the incumbent, I have made meaningful progress in addressing key challenges such as professionalism, accountability, and building public trust by strengthening training, enforcing compliance standards, and improving transparency. However, ongoing challenges remain, including adapting to evolving laws, maintaining consistent deputy performance, and enhancing efficiency. I will continue building on the foundation we’ve established by improving oversight, leveraging technology, and ensuring the office remains responsive, fair, and committed to serving the community with integrity.
As the incumbent, I prioritize projects that strengthen accountability, safety, and efficiency. We have already implemented mandatory training and background checks for all deputies to ensure professionalism and public trust. I also modernized our process for requesting forced move-out assistance, making it more streamlined, transparent, and accessible. Moving forward, I will continue enhancing these systems, expanding training opportunities, and leveraging technology to improve coordination with the courts and better serve residents.
As the incumbent, I continue to face challenges such as maintaining consistent deputy accountability, adapting to evolving laws, and ensuring efficient, transparent operations. Looking ahead, increased caseloads, changing policies, and growing community expectations will require ongoing improvements. We have used and will continue to use technology to help address these challenges and meet the needs of the community. I will also strengthen training and oversight and maintain open communication to ensure the office remains fair, responsive, and effective.
I use this role to build trust and create pathways for community engagement and leadership. Through initiatives like the Legacy Leaders Program in partnership with the Madam Walker Legacy Center, we are developing the next generation of civic leaders. I am also developing a Junior Deputy Constable internship program to expose young people to public service and the justice system. By combining service, mentorship, and education, I aim to strengthen relationships, promote accountability, and create lasting, positive impact in our community.
