Charter Township of Lansing Electric Franchise Proposal
Shall the current electric franchise granted by the Charter Township of Lansing, County of Ingham, State of Michigan, to the Lansing Board of Water and Light in 2012, for a term of thirty (30) years, pursuant to Ordinance No. 40-A, to use the highways, streets, alleys, bridges and other public places of the Township, and private property by easement, for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy; to construct, maintain, and commercially use electric lines, to operate and maintain the same, to conduct and transact a local electric business in the Township; and to charge customers within the Township a franchise fee at a rate not to exceed 5% of the net revenues, and to remit franchise fee revenues to the Township; all subject to reasonable regulations as the Township Board shall prescribe from time to time, be confirmed and made irrevocable?
