I am focused on lowering property taxes by working with the Economic Development Council to attract clean industries that offer high-paying jobs. Currently, St. Lucie businesses account for two-thirds of property tax revenue. And reduce traffic congestion by creating more "destination areas".
St. Lucie County already collaborates with numerous federal, State, and local organizations dedicated to protecting our most precious resource, the Indian River Lagoon. I will continue to support and work with all.
1) Require the developer to reduce density to 3 homes per acre 2) Create "destination areas". St Lucie County currently has 3 destination areas: Fort Pierce, St. Lucie West, and Tradition. Currently, the BOCC is working on 3 new "destination areas. 3) Work with the EDC to attract clean industries with high-paying jobs.
St. Lucie County supports IRSC with its nursing programs and free associate degree programs for local residents. As well as many non-profits like The Boys & Girls Club and Project Lift, to guide our younger generation into medical fields. BOCC also requires developers to have affordable homes within the new community.
1) Work with the EDC 2) Develop the airport 3) Develop the Sea Port 4) Support local businesses to grow and expand.
I am pro Data Centers properly regulated. I do not want St. Lucie to become a Data Center "alley", however, 2 or 3 data centers will create high-paying jobs and generate enough tax revenue to eliminate homesteaded property taxes without cutting services.
I am currently talking with residents about the pros of Data Centers and addressing their concerns.
