County Commission District 6

The Board of County Commissioners is the legislative and policy-setting body for Palm Beach County government. Seven commissioners are elected, in staggered years, from single-member districts to represent the entire county. A commissioner is limited to two consecutive terms, each term lasting four years. The commission itself elects the county mayor to preside over its meetings and serve as ceremonial head of county government, as well as a vice mayor to fill in for the mayor. Commission meetings and workshops are held on Tuesdays; all are open to the public. The FY 2025-26 salary for a County Commissioner is $127,320.

For more than 25 years, I've managed government operations, budgets and public infrastructure. I hold a Master of Public Administration and have led multimillion-dollar departments for Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach, overseeing a $50 million budget, seven divisions and 140+ employees. My career has been about improving government performance, protecting taxpayer dollars and delivering reliable services.
My priorities are infrastructure, neighborhood quality, public safety and government accountability. I want to modernize roads, drainage, parks and county facilities while improving emergency preparedness and customer service. We'll pursue grants, leverage technology, prioritize capital planning and use data-driven budgeting so existing tax dollars are spent more efficiently before asking taxpayers to spend more.
My career has been built on doing more with available resources. Before reducing core services, we should improve operational efficiency, eliminate waste, modernize procurement, pursue state and federal grants, and use long-term capital planning to reduce costs. Every budget decision should be guided by measurable performance, transparency and protecting the essential services residents depend on every day.
Residents deserve a county government that delivers basic services efficiently and invests fairly in every community. Too often, neighborhoods wait too long for infrastructure improvements and maintenance. I'll advocate for transparent, data-driven capital planning that prioritizes roads, drainage, parks and public facilities based on need, while aggressively pursuing outside funding to stretch every local tax dollar.

I bring a combination of professional leadership, public service, and community involvement to this role. As a licensed general contractor, project manager, professor, and U.S. Army Reserve Major, I have experience managing budgets, leading teams, solving complex problems, and being accountable for results. I hold a Ph.D. and multiple graduate degrees in fields related to management, public policy, law, and government, giving me a strong foundation for evaluating legislation and public spending.
My priorities are traffic, infrastructure, property tax relief, and government accountability. I support accelerating road projects, improving drainage, and ensuring growth pays for growth through impact fees and developer contributions. I will work to reduce wasteful spending, increase budget transparency, and provide targeted tax relief for seniors and long-term homeowners. Every county dollar should be focused on essential services and measurable results for residents.
If voters approve property tax reductions, my focus will be on protecting essential services while improving efficiency. I will conduct a top-to-bottom review of county spending, eliminate waste and duplication, prioritize core services, and require stronger accountability for contracts and programs. I also support pursuing grants, maximizing impact fees so growth pays for growth, and expanding the tax base through responsible economic development. The goal is to balance budgets through smarter
The biggest challenge facing District 6 is traffic and infrastructure not keeping pace with growth. Residents spend too much time in congestion while roads, drainage systems, and public services fall behind. My solution is to require growth to pay for growth through impact fees and developer contributions, accelerate critical road projects, and prioritize infrastructure funding before approving major new developments. Existing residents should not bear the cost of unchecked growth.

I have significant experience with budgeting & managing programs. As a corporate executive, I spent many years managing personnel, overseeing budgets & handling sales activities as well as operations. I also have state legislative experience & local government experience having been elected as a state rep and as a port commissioner. I co-founded a nonprofit to help hurricane victims and have sat on several boards to help our marginalized residents, including Boys & Girls & the Salvation Army.
Among the policy areas I plan to focus on are working to make our county more affordable, including improved access to affordable housing, particularly for unhoused seniors; I will also work to preserve our quality of life by ensuring developments take into consideration our environment, our water supply and traffic impact.
The reduction in property taxes will result in a very large decrease to our county budget. The details of where these cuts will come from have yet to be determined but it is important we preserve our residents' key services as much as possible. Having significant budgetary experience and legislative experience, I am uniquely qualified to work with other county commissioners and staff, to manage what will be an extremely tough budgetary process.
One of the biggest issues in my district is Project Tango, a hyperscale AI datacenter, that would be located close to a school and a community. The residents, like other residents throughout the country, are opposed to having a datacenter in their neighborhood. I am opposed to this data center as proposed. Affordability also remains a top priority. I will work to find ways to help our residents. including working with our legislature to further decrease insurance rates and taxes.
