“The two most pressing issues facing our city are protecting the quality of life we enjoy today while planning responsibly for the future, and ensuring we have the leadership and resources to make strong decisions that keep our community safe and prosperous.
“My priorities in drafting and adopting the budget are to protect the financial strength of our city, maintain the quality of services residents depend on, and plan responsibly for the future. A strong budget is more than numbers on a page — it is a roadmap that reflects our values and our commitment to the community.
We must make thoughtful decisions that balance today’s needs with tomorrow’s responsibilities. That means prioritizing public safety, infrastructure, maintenance, financial accountability, and long-term planning while ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely and efficiently.
I believe in transparency, careful evaluation, and responsible stewardship.
“As a coastal community, Daytona Beach Shores must always be prepared for the challenges that come with growth, redevelopment, and severe weather. State legislation such as SB 180 reminds us how important it is to have strong local leadership that protects our community’s interests.
My priority is to preserve the character, safety, and quality of life that make The Shores special while planning responsibly for the future. We must continue advocating for local control, responsible development, resilient infrastructure, and decisions that put residents first.
Building for tomorrow requires vision today — and that means making sure growth is thoughtful, our city remains safe, and the voice of our residents is always heard.”
“As a coastal city, we have a responsibility to be proactive stewards of the beach that protects our homes, businesses, and way of life.”
“Affordable housing is a challenge that requires collaboration, compassion, and thoughtful planning. No single city can solve this issue alone, which is why strong partnerships between municipalities and Volusia County are essential.
I believe we must bring cities, the county, developers, housing organizations, and community leaders together to identify realistic solutions that help working families, seniors, and those who contribute to our community while respecting the unique character of each city.
Collaboration means sharing ideas, coordinating resources, and looking for opportunities where responsible development can meet the needs of our residents. We should focus on smart growth, preserving quality of life, and ensuring safety.
The future of commercial and retail space requires a thoughtful balance between attracting new opportunities and supporting the businesses that have already invested in our community. Successful cities do not simply grow — they grow with purpose.
I believe we should focus on attracting businesses that are financially strong, provide needed services, enhance our quality of life, and become true partners within our community. At the same time, we must support existing businesses by creating an environment where they can continue to succeed.
That means encouraging responsible development, improving communication between the city and business owners, and recognizing that a vibrant local economy strengthens our entire community.
