My priorities all flow from one root problem. A Congress that answers to lobbyists and donors instead of the people. First, pass the CAPT Act: banning congressional stock trading, closing the revolving door, and ending pay during shutdowns and deficits. Second, term limits, so serving is a duty, not a career. Third, real transparency: read-the-bill rules and plain-language summaries, so no one votes on what they haven't read. I'm not a politician, I'm a farmer running for one term to fix the institution and go home. Every other issue, from healthcare to the economy, stays broken until we end the corruption first.
Inflation is a tax that hits working families hardest, and it starts with a government that spends money it doesn't have. I support the balanced-budget amendment in my CAPT Act and ending congressional pay during deficits, accountability for the people writing the checks. A vibrant economy grows from the bottom up. Small businesses, farmers, and workers, not corporate handouts steered by lobbyists. Cut the waste, restore fiscal discipline, and let Main Street breathe.
I approach this as a farmer and beekeeper who depends on clean water and healthy land every day. My focus is protecting what's real and local: I've opposed sulfide-mining proposals that threaten our water and wetlands, and pushed to see regulations written before heavy industry, including massive data centers, moves in. Stewardship shouldn't be partisan. Hold polluters financially accountable so taxpayers never foot the cleanup, and keep decisions close to the communities affected.
Working families deserve a real safety net, but too often lobbyists, like Big Pharma, write the rules and drive up the cost of the things people need. I've highlighted insulin pricing as exactly this kind of failure. My answer starts with ending that corruption so policy serves patients and families, not donors. I support protecting the programs people have paid into, bringing transparency to healthcare pricing, and making sure aid reaches the people who actually need it.
Free and fair elections are the foundation of everything, and right now too many Americans don't trust the system. I want elections that are both secure and accessible: accurate voter rolls and transparent, auditable results, alongside making sure eligible citizens can easily cast their vote. What I won't support is using election bills as political weapons, attaching unrelated bills so one party scores points while nothing improves. Restoring trust means putting voters ahead of party games.
A member of Congress has one job: to represent the people, not lobbyists or donors. I take that literally. I'm running for a single term as a citizen legislator, serve, pass real reform, and return to my farm. I'll show up and do the work: read every bill before I vote, hold regular town halls, and refuse PAC and lobbyist money so I answer only to you. My CAPT Act writes these duties into law, attendance accountability, transparency, and an end to Congress serving itself.
Accountability should apply to every branch, including the courts. The same principles behind my CAPT Act fit here: a binding, enforceable code of ethics for federal judges and the Supreme Court, real transparency, and consequences for conflicts of interest. What I won't support is packing the courts to win short-term political fights. That's the kind of power grab that erodes trust. Restore public confidence by holding judges to the same ethical standard we demand across government.
