The Will County Treasurer serves as both the county treasurer and the ex officio tax collector. The Treasurer is responsible for depositing, investing, and disbursing all funds for Will County. The Collector is responsible for billing, collecting, investing, and distributing Will County property taxes. 1. Delicate IT infrastructure is always on my mind. The County provides a custom system for levy collections and reporting, and assessments. Options are few and implementing something requires cooperation of other elected officials and several departments. There are few, if any, options as I am aware of other large counties frustrated with their decisions to purchase a program from a vendor. We apply diligent attention to deadlines and duties of our tax cycle partners to assure on time billing, collection, and distribution.
2. Large amounts of cash use by taxpayers is a concern. We continue to offer additional payment options to reduce the risk of large amounts of cash being carried by taxpayers, and held here in the office.

Budget planning is managed in Will County by the Executives office. Elected County Board members handle the planning process with the Executive. Resident engagement opportunities are available to residents directly at the public meetings advertised with that item on the agenda, and indirectly through their elected board members.
