The City of Montgomery is a Type A General Law City. The City Council is comprised of a Mayor and five City Council members. The City Council serves as the governing body for the City. Duties include the following responsibilities: adopting the annual budget, levying taxes, enacting local legislation and setting policies. City Council positions are elected and are at-large positions that serve staggered terms. Term: Two (2) years
