Tiffany Flemming for Perry Township Trustee
I’m running because I believe this role is about stewardship: caring well for neighbors while responsibly managing township resources. I was born and raised in Perry Township. My husband and I have built our life in the surrounding Huntertown community. This isn’t just where I live… it’s where I’m rooted, where my relationships are, and where I feel called to serve. People want to feel seen and heard, especially in difficult seasons. That requires leadership that is present, approachable, and engaged. I bring strong relationships and connections with local ministries and community partners who can work alongside the Trustee’s office to better serve residents.
Providing direct assistance to residents in need and managing resources with integrity are most important. The Trustee office often meets people in difficult moments, and how they are treated matters. Being accessible, responsive, and fair is essential. I also value strong partnerships with local ministries and organizations already serving the community. When combined with responsible financial stewardship and transparency, the office can meet real needs and serve residents effectively.
A key challenge is ensuring available resources are actually reaching those in need. Many residents may not know what help exists or how to access it. Improving communication and making the office more approachable is essential. Another challenge is navigating complex situations while working within guidelines. This requires discernment, consistency, and compassion. When the office is visible, accessible, and connected, it can more effectively serve our neighbors!

I am a mother, advocate, and community member who understands firsthand how local government impacts family needs- especially those navigating complex needs. As a stay- at - home mom to a child with special needs, I have spent years coordinating services, advocating systems, managing budgets, and building relationships with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. I have a heart for helping people and I see theTrustee position as a tremendous opportunity to advocate for those struggling and to provide assistance if possible. My husband and I have lived in the Huntertown area for 28 years and are transitioning to being empty- nesters- so I am ready for something new.
A Trustee should be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars with clear transparent reporting, careful budgeting and oversight, striving to eliminate waste while protecting services.
The Trustee should provide dignity in assistance ensuring services are accessible/clearly communicated and improving coordination with nonprofits and service providers.
The Trustee should provide community partnerships with local schools, churches and nonprofits and bring practical problem solving to any needs that arise.
I would like to establish a website to eliminate any confusion with the processes involved with relief and expedite the whole process strengthening collaboration and avoiding duplication and inefficiency. It would be great to have this information and necessary forms easily available online.
Currently there is no community center in our area and I would like to assist in providing a space for meetings and recreational shelters near parks.
