I am a native Marylander living here for 52 years and in Ellicott City for 26 years. I love Maryland. My professional life has been dedicated to law enforcement. I am an attorney, a retired FBI agent (30+years), and a former Baltimore County police officer. I held senior positions on Capitol Hill (7 yrs), on both the House and the Senate Judiciary Committees. I was responsible for significant legislation from drafting language to the passage of what became law. I will represent you from Day One!
The cornerstone of democracy is the ability of those governed to freely choose who will govern them. The "will of the People" must be the "will of the People" and must never be manipulated. To this end, elections must be secure and at the same time not disenfranchise voters who are entitled to vote. A common-sense approach might be to incorporate the best practices of election security from across the country and consider standardizing, at least national elections, administered by the States.
Regardless of political affiliation, we are one people and we have one planet. Our planet has to be sustained, for our own destiny and for the very survival of the generations that follow. We should look toward science and public education on these issues. We won't suddenly stop driving gas cars or cooking on gas stoves. Perhaps incentivize gradual sensible change. The Chesapeake Bay is an example of clean-up efforts that have worked with public support; our oyster harvests are at 36 year highs!
The "melting pot" that we are is our greatest strength. But anything that deals with sudden or progressively increased demand for attention or resources has a breaking point. Be it a shortage of consumer goods or hospital beds/medicines during a pandemic/disaster, empty grocery store shelves before an impending storm, or an electrical blackout when demand surpasses supply, so it is with immigration. Secure the border/ Deport illegals/No sanctuary cities/Support ICE/Welcome LEGAL immigrants.
Gun safety means different things to different people. Maryland has had some of the strictest gun controls in the country. It was difficult under Maryland law to get a conceal-carry permit even if you were retired from law enforcement. Did this make Marylanders any safer? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Maryland has tried to circumvent U.S. Supreme Court decisions that struck down Maryland gun laws. The result is confusion by those legally carrying. Criminals don't care about gun restrictions, focus on crime!

Up the quotas drastically and deny people who come here legally or illegally from receiving any benefits until they become citizens.
Stop making laws claiming gun safety when you're actually banning guns from citizens and not criminals. Laws should only be for illegal use. People kill people; not hammers, knives, or guns.

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather. I deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine before retiring from the USAF. After private industry work, I served at DoD and DHS where I helped resettle Afghans, Haitian refugees, and undocumented migrants in defense of the US Southwest Border. Maryland’s Governor appointed me to the District 9 Judicial Nominating Commission, Howard County Maryland. I am the most qualified candidate in this race.
The use of absentee ballots should be discontinued, except in the case of military people serving overseas and those physically unable to come to the polls. Voting Machine technology is insecure and should be replaced in favor of secure, traceable paper ballots. Using electronic voting machines and early voting invites fraud and corruption. Networked data can be compromised. I make this statements as an expert in Federal Cybersecurity, having defended my country at this highest levels.
We must improve human well-being while protecting the environment. Humans have always adapted to climate change. We need secure, reliable, and economic energy systems. We need 21st-century infrastructure for our electricity and transportation systems for continued prosperity. Rushing to implement 20th-century renewable technologies risks wasting resources on inadequate energy infrastructure and increasing our vulnerability to weather and climate extremes.
Few changes are needed. I favor enforcing our current immigration laws. America has no mandate to allow undocumented people to be admitted into our country. President Biden recently submitted a bill that ties controlling our southern border with providing more money for Ukraine and Gaza. President Biden’s latest proposal would permit up to 150,000 illegal crossings per month (1.8 million per year).
I am against National Gun Safety Legislation. A national policy on guns fails to account for local requirements. Most gun crimes are perpetrated by a small and predictable number of repeat offenders who obtain their weapons through illegal channels. Legally obtained firearms allow citizens to defend themselves, their families and their property.

I have three main roles in life- Mother, Wife, and Real Estate professional. While I have an extensive background in work and education who I am on a day to day basis is my reason for running. As a toddler mother I am well trained in negotiations and keeping a level head in high pressure situations, as a military spouse I have a deep understanding of the reform that DoD families need, and as a real estate professional I know first hand just how broken this market is and exactly how to fix it.
Voter IDs are 100% necessary. Also, this day in age, anyone can be hacked, that includes voting machines. Cyber Security measures must advance to catch up with ever changing technology.
I do understand that the Earth has a natural ebb and flow pattern but I also can't ignore things like garbage Island and the fact that the average person consumes 5 grams of microplastics in a week. This needs to be addressed not only on a federal level but a global level. This issue runs down to the bones of our society's constant need for newer better items and into the heart of the corporate greed. In order to change the environmental crisis we need to first change our blatant consumerism.
Stronger borders but a more streamlined process for those looking to immigrate. It shouldn't take years and thousands of dollars just to become and American. However, we need extremely thorough background checks. We'd have to be fools to think our enemies wouldn't try entering this country with malice.
"shall not be infringed" (unless you're convicted of a violent crime)

I am here to represent an unheard voice of my district. My upbringing would have better prepared me for a life within the correctional facility than as a member of Congress. I believe that my ability to overcome an environment riddled with poverty, addiction, and crime has allowed me to advocate for individuals in my district facing the same challenges I endured. I understand their concerns and interests and I will vote on legislation that will have a positive impact on their lives.
To protect voting rights I believe we need to start by strengthening the requirements to vote. Providing an ID at the polling locations and when requesting an absentee ballot. I also believe we need to protect election workers and volunteers from threats of credible violence.
I believe in the expansion of nuclear and hydropower. I do not believe that we are at a point where we can rely solely on clean energy production and electric vehicles. We still need to prioritize oil, gas, and fossil fuel extraction, while also expanding on other options. I would like to see less of a reliance on foreign energy sources and domestically produce as much as possible.
I would support fully funding effective border enforcement strategies, infrastructure, and technology to prevent illegal crossings and trafficking. I would end the catch-and-release loopholes, require legal status to obtain a job, and eliminate welfare incentives.
I do not believe that we can reduce gun violence through gun control. Mental health is a problem that we're facing when it comes to the tragedies of mass shootings. I believe in defending the Second Amendment. I will not support removing guns from law-abiding citizens. I am in support of placing federally funded armed guards at schools and expanding mental health resources.

I have successfully served as an executive leader in business and legal positions at an array of companies including the biggest in the world (Walmart), as well as small start-ups. Focused primarily on Strategic Planning, Finance & Operations on the business side and corporate legal support on the Legal side. I understand budgeting and financial & strategic planning. My legal background will serve me well in the House as well (admitted in NY, CT and MD).
As technology continues to advance, securing elections and protecting voters should become easier, not more complicated. The government must ensure that every person that has the right to vote has the access, ability and opportunity to cast their ballot. Security and validation capabilities must be in place to ensure early voting, mail in ballots and regular voting all can be counted and relied on in our elections.
Addressing environmental concerns requires both regulatory measures and collaboration with businesses and communities. We can work to strengthen environmental regulations to hold polluters accountable while also providing support and resources for businesses to transition to cleaner production methods. We must balance environmental protection with economic considerations. All policies combating climate change and pollution must be mindful of their potential impact on jobs and economies.
We have to find a balance between upholding the rule of law, ensuring national security, and recognizing the valuable contributions of immigrants to society. By working together across party lines, we can find solutions that strengthen our immigration system through investment in technology, personnel and infrastructure, while upholding the principles that make America a beacon of hope and opportunity for people around the world. Legal immigration must be supported and made more efficient.
I believe in every citizen’s right to bear arms. However, gun control is critical. Maryland is one of the leading states in the nation regarding gun safety laws. We can be an example of moving these standards nationally. I am in favor of strong background checks and longer wait times, gun safety training, and storage requirements for semi-automatics weapons for all gun owners, and even more strict control concerning access and ownership of automatic weapons.
