Eliminating hunger, alleviating poverty, and creating opportunities for people to pull themselves out of these situation if they wish. Protect public money for public schools. Housing the homeless.
I am the National Community Organizing Manager for Hunger Free America and Licensed Practical Nurse. I have shared my story of losing my job during the Great Recession, needing SNAP (food stamps), all while trying to raise a teenage son. In 2016, I participated in a White House panel discussion highlighting Child Hunger in America, and in 2022 attended the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. I serve on the Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force board of directors, Alliance to End Hunger Advisory Council, frequently advocates for anti-hunger and anti-poverty legislation, fierce community advocate for the Idaho Food Bank, former member of the Bread for the World Board of Directors, RESULTS Experts on Poverty Cohort.
Making sure public money stays in public schools. Protecting our libraries from overzealous legislators and radical fringe groups. Helping take care of the least and last, especially our hungry children.
Absolutely I support legislation to remove criminal liability for physicians and pregnant women experiencing life threatening pregnancy complications and allow for medical and family decisions regarding continuation of that pregnancy. I have faced my own personal reproductive issues and am thankful I had the choice and freedom to work with my doctor to make an informed decision. All humans should have the same privilege I had. To criminalize health care is a travesty and is, itself, criminal.
Idaho has the potential to be an amazing and safe place to live for all Idahoans. We all need to work hard and diligently to dispel the myths of the overzealous legislators and radical fringe groups. To be so hugely far apart in our values is not doing Idaho any favors.
