Necessary infrastructure is needed to accommodate growth and to ensure the needs of the area are addressed. With this comes the need to assess and evaluate along with ensuring economic development and sustainability. Having Infrastructure in place reduces the disruption of development and allows for seamless positive growth.
Continue working with neighborhood communities, Sheriffs Department, other elected officials. With past programs, (Neighborhood Marches and Cookouts) we have seen a reduction in crimes. Neighborhoods have remained vigilant and also continue ensuring residents know their voices are heard and they matter. It truly takes a village.
Being from the rural area, the needs are somewhat different as water, sewer, and paving dirt roads are a priority. Continue to work with local officials on gaining resources and funding to ensure these needs are met.
The importance of being able to support the Transit system, continue the paving of dirt roads, and other needed and special projects is ongoing. The Penny Tax helps reduce the cost to taxpayers and improves communities. I support this, and understand the voters have the final say.

The key to vibrant and sustainable communities, is innovative and smart growth. It's imperative for Richland County to grow at a rate, in which we have the capacity.

As I think towards District 10 specifically, there is need for a comprehensive strategic plan, that includes the voices of the constituents.

Sound infrastructure is the foundation of Smart Strategic Growth. While enhanced educational experiences for every student, are the catalysts charged with stimulating workforce development within our communities. A stronger workforce promotes vibrancy and sustainability.
Gun violence is a serious issue we are facing here in Richland County, unfortunately with a higher number of young offenders and victims. I have personally been impacted by gun violence and know many families who have as well.

A key component to reducing disruptive behavior, is reaching our youth early, allowing them to craft a true purpose for their existence, connecting families, implementing more mental health resources in our communities, implementing additional financial resources, ensuring every citizen feels included. We must reach them where they are.

We are committed to working collaboratively with neighbors and local law enforcement, to ensure Richland County is a safe place to live and work.
I have been privileged with a lifelong commitment to working with underserved communities. I am them. I too, walk in their shoes and have lived their daily struggles.

In addressing the issue of advocating for under-served communities, within Richland County, it's imperative to recognize the inherent disparities that exist and commit to proactive measures for equitable progress. As District 10 representative, my approach would be multifaceted, focusing on community engagement, policy initiatives, and resource allocation to uplift under served communities within Richland County.

I would like to think that the penny tax has certainly played a role in upgrading communities throughout Richland County, in a variety of ways. Regarding, District 10 specifically, as I speak to neighbors there has been a consistent sentiment, that there has not been a holistic approach, when it comes to Penny Tax funding, within District 10. The Comet and the additional routes have been an asset; yet there are elements within that the should be addressed. Infrastructure, dirt roads that once were on the list now aren't, and my neighbors are asking for additional greenspace, walkable communities and more. District 10 is a vast and diverse district, the appropriation of funding should resemble such.
