Indiana public schools are governed by school boards whose members are elected by the residents of the Benton County School Corporation in the designated districts A, B, C. Elections are staggered.These board members establish the direction, set goals, and define the structure of their school district by adopting policies through the authority granted to them by the state legislature. Powers that the boards retain are related to property, facilities, personnel, salaries, transportation, school lunch, educational materials and supplies, levy taxes, budgets, insurance and much more. They are accountable to the public.Term: 4 years

I recently retired from 33 years as an educator in the public school system. I know my experience and training will be beneficial in decision making for the school corporation.
This school district has been very diligent in keeping up with current trends and requirements regarding school wide safety. Changes and/or additions should always be analyzed.
As with anything, all sides need to be considered when making policy.
This school district has already added staff to address current mental health concerns. This should be an ongoing process.
As an educator, I had many of these experiences in my career. There was never a problem listening and respecting those with different ideals and backgrounds.
