Short Term Rentals, Septic Systems that are old and have not been inspected in a long time, Affordable Reliable Internet, the need for Affordable Housing, Lack of Skilled Trade Workers are just a few of the problems we are facing. You have to do research and listen to what residents tell you what their concerns are and work to solve these problems to the satisfaction of the majority of residents.
Being fiscally responsible with the money the township takes in is the key. We are promoting our two Lighthouses and have many ways to generate income from them which helps. We just purchased an Ambulance and we are seeing an income from that service from insurance payments.
You listen, listen and listen some more. There is always more than one way to handle a situation and you have to weigh all the information from the residents and go with the best action.
