Candidate Information I am a dedicated Republican and Pro-Life advocate with over three decades of experience in criminal law and am seeking the GOP nomination for Allegan County Prosecuting Attorney. My decision is rooted in the urgent need for a prosecutor who wholeheartedly supports law enforcement, prioritizes transparency in the Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office, and is committed to efficiently managing an office currently over budget while producing lackluster results.
To stop the rampant attrition from the current prosecuting attorney's office and to attract top-notch assitant prosecutors to work in Allegan. I will seek to train the current assistant prosecutors and make sure that all of the assistant prosecutors are compensated properly. I will strive to see that the Prosecutor's office is run with transparency, accountability and integrity.
I was a law clerk for Judge Corsiglia and for the Michigan Court of Appeals. I then opened a private practice of law and have been doing that successfully since 1993. My practice includes criminal defense, family law, litigation, and personal injury law. I have been given numerous awards including the Nations Top One Percent, National Association of Distinguished Counsel; Top 10 DUI Defense Attorney Attorney and Practice Magazine; Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorney, Attorney and Practice Magazine; Superb Rated Attorney, AVVO. I also own commercial buildings in Allegan and have done that since 1995.
For the right person, Alternative Sentencing programs can be ideal. They cost less than incarceration and many of the programs have a much better recidivism rate than incarceration. Allegan's Veteran's court is a prime example of that. I have had three clients graduate from that court and all three have had life-changing experiences going through Veteran's Court.
It would have no impact on me because, as an attorney, I have already taken a solemn oath to uphold the constitutions of both Michigan and the United States of America.
