Education
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Advanced courses in Quality Problem Solving by SME, GMI, and Ford
With 4 years on a township board and 8 years as a county commissioner I was involved with transportation issues. As a commissioner I was the liaison to the Road Commission, Sheriffs Department, Emergency Management, and the US-131 Development Association. I worked with MDOT engineers and attended about 30 Transportation Commission meetings.
I chaired the Republican Party in both Otsego and Crawford Counties. This afforded me opportunities to work with local, State and Federal elected officials.
Before my days in government I was active with the Michigan United Conservation Clubs. I served as the District 13 Chairman and later as the Region II Vice President. That is where I learned how government functioned and how get things done.
Attendance had been an issue. I will be there as scheduled. During my terms as an elected official I have missed 1 regular meeting over 12 years. That meeting conflicted with a class that I had for a professional designation.
To provide the quality of roads that our residents deserve we need to create funding sources to offset our vast amount of State and Federal lands in our County. I would have to work under the direction of our Chairman and cooperation the the Director of the Commission. Also our Chairman has talked about methods to decrease the cost of materials and I will support him in those efforts.
Safety to our motoring public, pedestrians and employees should be our first priority. Little things can make a big difference.

Education
Bachelor's degree in business administration
Retired Plant Manager with 40 years' experience with Budgeting, Capital expenditures, and Labor Relations. I can provide experience and understanding to the duties of the Road Commissioner. As I also serve on the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, the Grayling Recreational Authority, the Crawford County Trails Committee, all of which interface with the Road Commission I can be a liaison when needed. I have lived in Crawford County for 20 years and have dedicated myself to giving back to the community I enjoy so much.
I have been attending the majority of the Road Commission Board meetings since my time as a County Commissioner. This, if elected, will allow a smooth transition and stability to the board. With the recent hiring of a new Director and the pending changeover of commissioners my goal is to provide stability and knowledge to the board. My experience, leadership, and understanding of the operation will continue the operational capacities to be utilized to the fullest and provide and better roads and opportunities to our community.
