Education MSU College of Agriculture Pesticide Technology Certification
Occupation/Experience Director Bay County Mosquito Control 33 years (Retired); Life-long Farmer
Life -long resident, born and raised, as well as raising my family in Williams Township has provided the perspective I need to appreciate the growth and needs of our community. With my history and experience in agriculture, I understand the importance of balance between agriculture and residential development. Serving as Director of Mosquito Control has provided invaluable experience managing staff as well as developing and implementing a million dollar annual budget.
Most importantly, being a good steward of the people’s money. Making spending decisions using common sense to benefit the residents of my community.
Expanding and improving Williams Township park. Primarily expanding parking and ball diamonds by utilizing currently owned township property adjacent to the existing park. Roads, roads, roads. Pinch any possible dollars from the budget to improve our roads..

Occupation/Experience Retired; Director, Bay Co. Dept. of Water & Sewer 8/2010 to 4/2017, Assistant Director 11/2009 to 8/2010; Williams Township Supervisor 11/2000 to 10/2009; Williams Township Trustee 11/2009 to 11/2020; MTA District 13 Director 1/2009 to 1/2011 and 6/2019 to 2/2021
I have been solving constituent's problems since my time as the Parts Manager at the John Deere dealership in Crump and through my career as Williams Township Supervisor and later as Assistant Director and then Director of the Bay County Department of Water and Sewer. I have always believed in leadership and service with integrity.

It is important to be a good listener. My goal is to always give honest and due consideration to people's concerns and issues and do my best to reach a consensus on the best path forward.

I have experience working with local and state officials. A prime example is in facilitating the location of the Tri-City Michigan State Police Post in Williams Township.
As a Williams Township Trustee, I am placed in a position of public trust to adopt and support policies that make sense for the township's residents and property owners. As a Trustee, I will also have fiduciary and oversight responsibility to assure that the township expends tax dollars in a wise and efficient manner. An efficient and well run township should have a fair and effective purchasing policy and bid process. I want to assure that the township is maintaining the level of general fund dollars that were historically allocated to local road improvements in addition to the special road millage dollars that have recently been approved by the township voters. Assuring an overall good budgeting process is in place is very important.
* I pledge to improve transparency and accountability with your tax dollars.

* Expand office hours to best serve Williams Township residents and businesses.

* Continue to be a strong supported of the Auburn-Williams Fire Department and Public Safety

* Fix the darn local roads.

* Support preserving farmland.

* Expand recreational opportunities in Williams Township Park.

I believe that communication with the township's residents needs to improve. The current township website could be better utilized with far more current information. Meeting agendas could be made available to the public in advance and meeting minutes could be posted more timely. A newsletter could be made available on the website, and through a group email list.
Education AAS Delta College, BS Western Michigan
Occupation/Experience Worked in Radiology at Mid Michigan Hospital and McLaren Medical Center, Retired 4 yrs ago
I have served 10 terms as a WilliamsTownship Trustee. I have an Associates degree in Radiographic Technology from Delta College and a BS Degree from Western Michigan. I spent my career at Mid Michigan Health and McLaren Bay region, retiring 4 years ago.

While serving on the Township Board, I have been a member of the Auburn/ Williams Rec board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Dow nature preserve chair, and Auburn/ Williams Fire District board .
Each vote on a resolution at the Board level or motion that is made must take into account the wishes of the entire Township community. It is my responsibility to represent the entire Township Populace.

I make every effort to attend all posted meetings that I have been assigned to by the Township Board. Recently I have been involved in new sidewalks and chairing quarterly meetings with the public and Dow Chemical on a 1460 acre Nature Preserve west of 11 mile in Williams Township and Midland.
Roads within the Township are a critical necessity by all residents. There is never enough funding for all necessary road improvements. The Township board proposes to meet the needs of residents with the funding available.

Sidewalks - I chaired a committee for 6 years proposing a rail trail between Bay City and Midland. The owners of the Railroad and Gaslines were not in argeement with this plan. We were successful in obtaining a sidewalk on the north side of Midland road from Garfield to U.S. 10. The 2nd half started June 1st 2024.

The Township Board has replaced Play Equipment in the park. We are attempting to resurface the front parking lot and add Pickelball courts to the center of the park.
