I am running for this elected position because I believe that protecting our soil, water, and natural resources is essential to the health, safety, and future of Orange County. Conservation affects every resident through clean water, flood prevention, responsible growth, environmental education, and the preservation of our land.
I am currently an Associate Supervisor and Treasurer of the Orange Soil and Water Conservation District, where I have gained direct experience with the District’s mission, public meetings, financial responsibilities, and community conservation initiatives. I also bring a legal, civic, and educational background that has prepared me to approach public service with accountability, transparency, and respect.
Yes. I am currently involved with agriculture, conservation, and land stewardship through my service as Associate Supervisor and Treasurer of the Orange Soil and Water Conservation District.
Agriculture remains an important part of Orange County’s economy, history, and environmental future. Although Orange County’s economy is now heavily driven by tourism, technology, health care, aerospace, and other major sectors, agriculture continues to contribute through farms, nurseries, horticulture, local food production, conservation practices, and responsible land management.
According to the 2022 USDA Census of Agriculture, Orange County had 600 farms, 118,397 acres of land in farms, and approximately $394.6M in market value of agriculture.
First, protecting water quality and improving awareness about stormwater, drainage, flooding, and pollution prevention are essential for Orange County. As our community continues to grow, we must help residents understand that what enters our streets, yards, drains, ponds, and waterways can affect public health, neighborhoods, wildlife, and long-term environmental resilience.
Second, I believe the District can play a stronger role in conservation education and community partnerships. As Associate Supervisor and Treasurer of the Orange Soil and Water Conservation District, I believe I can contribute experience, accountability, and a service-orient If elected, I would work to promote responsible stewardship, and transparency.
If elected, I would support a more proactive role for the District through public education, local data collection, board resolutions when appropriate, coordination with county and municipal partners, and direct communication with state officials. The goal should be to ensure that Tallahassee receives practical, factual, and community-based information before decisions are made.
The District should respect state authority while also making sure Orange County’s soil, water, wetlands, stormwater, and conservation priorities are clearly heard. As Associate Supervisor and Treasurer, I believe I can help the District communicate those concerns in a professional, transparent, and constructive manner.
High nutrient loads require enforceable, science-based solutions. Excess nitrogen and phosphorus from fertilizer, stormwater runoff, septic systems, wastewater, animal waste, and land-use practices can impair waterways and contribute to algae blooms.
I support requiring compliance with applicable State of Florida Best Management Practices where they are legally required, especially in impaired watershed or Basin Management Action Plan areas. Education and voluntary cooperation are important, but they should be supported by clear standards, technical assistance, monitoring, and accountability.
The Orange Soil and Water Conservation District can help by educating property owners, coordinating with FDACS, FDEP, andwater management districts.

I am running for this position to be an advocate for our farmers and those who tend the land, a great steward for the green lands and waterways of our community, and to promote smart growth in our communities. I am the daughter of immigrant agricultural workers who grew up in Marion County, a place where agriculture and environment are an integral part of the economy. I have worked alongside legislators in Central Florida on many issues in our communities.
I'm an agricultural professional in the cultivation and harvesting of medical cannabis for one of the largest providers in the state.
Orange County's Agricultural market value is roughly $400 million. In our county, there are 600 active farms covering over 118,000 acres of land. These farms provide specialized products important to our local economy.
I believe we can make a difference in preserving the sensitive lands and waterways in my district through my experience in direct lobbying with state and local officials. I look forward to improving conservation education in my district by collaborating with School Board members and advocating for environmentally focused curriculum.
I look forward to not just taking on the administrative roles of the position but being an unapologetic advocate for the issues affecting my district. I have proven over the last 10 years through legislative and community involvement that I am ready to take on state-wide issues, not just local.
