I've focused on three key issues: supporting small businesses during and post pandemic; advocating for pedestrian safety and solutions; and strengthening community public safety through a range of interventions. I co chaired our ANC COVID task force which included resources and counsel for small business as well as support for resident access to vaccines; worked with fellow commissioners on DDOT infrastructure improvements, focused on Ross Elementary safe routes to school recommendations and DC Council measures to promote pedestrian safety; and have supported community engagements and pro-active efforts to improve public safety.
I've issued monthly newletters, hosted webinars and meet ups, partnered with other community organizations on issues of shared interest - including across ANC boundaries, and have walked the SMD with city officials to improve service delivery. I will continue these efforts and look for additional ways, including additional engagements and dialogue to improve community involvement.
ANCs deserve, and lack adequate support for, our work. The OANC should be better resourced to support ANCs.
