Making our streets safer for everyone. We need better traffic safety measures, slower speeds, effective enforcement, and timely repairs of our roads, alleys and sidewalks. Our streets have become traffic highways that aren't safe for anyone, no matter their mode of transportation.

I will work in collaboration with the community, stakeholders, DDOT and other DC agencies to ensure we are implementing steps that make Vision Zero a reality, creating and implementing policies that help connect neighborhoods, are equitable, and that are focused on sustainability. Our climate is changing, and our children are dying in the streets while trying to cross the road. This is unacceptable and something that we have to work to change.
As I’ve begun my campaign to be the next ANC Commissioner for SMD 5E04, I have been knocking on doors - hopefully by Election Day I will have reached every constituent! - to explain what the role of a Commissioner is, how ANCs can help shape their neighborhood but most importantly - act as an effective liaison between the DC government and residents, and to also hear from people on what they want their representative on the ANC to advocate for. Connecting residents to resources and communicating their feedback to DC agencies is of paramount importance.

We also need to reach people where they are. Timely and informed communications is key to being an effective commissioner and being a successful ANC. Whether that’s through devoting resources to do direct mail, setting up smaller text chains, having a hybrid Zoom and in person ANC meetings, sending communications across different platforms (via email, social media, et al!).
Question: What is the one thing that you want people to know about you? For nearly a decade, I’ve been fortunate enough to call this neighborhood my home. I care deeply about making sure everyone, no matter how long they’ve lived here, can feel like they’re part of a community where people care for each other.
