In the past two years I have pushed for full support for with Democratic Parties across the nation and addressed the DNC "teaching" Statehood. This year 2024 I chaired a Retreat for the DC Democratic Party on the Presidential Election Year and how we present Statehood to the nation, with an emphasis on preparation for the DNC Convention this summer.
I will continue to teach and advocate for Statehood with an emphasis on what it is "not" to be a state. It has had a positive impact for understanding the issue with colleagues and citizens outside of the District of Columbia. Additionally, I will continue to participate in rallies and generate support from congressional leaders through Democratic State Parties.
As a Democrat, I will do my part to win back the House of Representatives and to keep the Senate Democratic and to re-elect President Biden, enabling us to have another chance at a vote for HR 51. I will additionally work with other candidates in various states who support DC Statehood. I will form partnerships with the Delegate to Congress and the Shadow Delegation to strengthen our lobbying efforts. I would form small coalitions comprised of DC Democrats, Republicans and Independents to visit members of Congress on the hill to ensure that our message is heard as taxpaying citizens that deserve to have full representation. Denying Statehood to the citizens of DC is voter suppression.
