I have worked in government, specifically at Doña Ana County for 16 years. I have held several financial positions; Accountant, Budget Officer, Accounts Payable and Payroll Manager, and am currently the Chief Deputy Treasurer. I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s of Accountancy from NMSU. I have lived most of my life in Doña Ana County. I bring a strong financial knowledge base to the office and a passion and commitment to public service.
My highest priorities are increasing community outreach, financial process improvements, and to protect, manage, and invest taxpayer dollars.
The main objective is the safety of public funds while maximizing return. I would focus on understanding and following the investment limitations required of local governments. Additionally, focus on portfolio diversification based on economic trends and County operational needs.
