During my last 8 years as Mayor we’ve expanded businesses, added housing opportunities, refreshed community parks, added outdoor sport and leisure options at the Community Center plus a dog park and archery range, established a 30-year road replacement schedule and championed Legislation initiatives such as the energy transition bill to help fill the gap of the lost tax base from Sherco. This was done while reducing City debt and planning for the future. I will build on these successes and continue to support and focus on enhancing public safety, expanding daycare services and building out our business community. If you are happy with all the changes to Becker and want to continue, then vote for Tracy so we can continue our succes together
With an increase in businesses brings an increase in workforce and we need to focus on additional housing and daycare options for those workers. We all want to continue to live in a safe City and I will continue to bolster our Police and Fire departments. Continue to make Becker a home for new businesses and provide a supportive environment for current businesses to expand.
As the current Mayor, I have implemented the use of Request For Action (RCA) for each agenda topic/item. Each one includes supporting attachments (bids, engineer reports, equipment specific data), justification for the request, if a committee reviewed it and their recommendation to Council, what the financial impact is and action being requested.

It also provides transparency as it compiles data in one form that you as a Citizen can use if further data/information is desired.
I love talking with people in small groups. It allows people to open up and feel safe when discussing items and their views.

I am a lifelong resident of Becker and have a deep concern for the future of our city. I have worked at Becker Public Schools for 30 years and have extensive experience volunteering for a variety of causes within our community. I have served in numerous leadership positions, including with the Sherburne County Substance Use Prevention Coalition (Chair) and the county's Community Corrections Advisory Board. I have served a term ('05-'09) on the Becker City Council and was an advocate for fiscal responsibility. In fact, we twice cut the city budget while still maintaining a high level of service for citizens. In the past 8 years, the city's general levy has increased approximately 50% and we cannot afford to continue on this path.
1. Transparency and repairing our working relationship with other local units of government such as the township and school district. When we work together, we can be better stewards of our taxpayer's dollars. 2. Fiscal responsibility. We must stop the out of control spending at the local level and find efficiencies in order to keep our senior citizens and young families in their homes. 3. Public safety. We have a great local PD - let's make sure they have a strong relationship with the SCSO.
We will conduct our business at the City Council meetings (which are live-streamed) and not at the executive sessions which are not broadcast. I will hold regular citizen engagement outreach functions where taxpayers can come and speak directly with me to share their opinions. I will advocate for having Open Houses and other events to gather input from citizens, especially when we are spending millions of dollars on building expansions or other initiatives.
I will hold regular outreach meetings where citizens can speak directly to me to share their input. I will advocate for increased opportunities for citizen input on committees, like restoring the now-defunct Police Advisory Committee (I served as chairperson for 7 years). By leveraging technology and utilizing our local newspaper, we can invite participation at events, meetings and community celebrations. I will institute an employee innovation program to solicit input from our city employees.
We must forge a better working relationship with our county's Drug Task Force to combat the fentanyl epidemic. By working with that agency and the Sheriff's Office in general, our fantastic local Police Department can be even more effective. I will advocate for joint training opportunities and including any other agency willing to collaborate to ensure public safety. We must also be creative in maintaining a strong fire department, including member recruitment and retention.
