30 years of Law enforcement/ Family court bailiff/Court Coordinator
I am a 30-year law enforcement veteran and Medal of Valor recipient. Having served Northeast El Paso for 15 years, I understand our unique needs. As a current bailiff, court coordinator and instructor, I have the "inside" knowledge to lead Pct 2 with authority and empathy. For a decade, the court has tried to "fine its way out" of truancy. It’s not working. My Wrap-Around Initiative replaces punitive fines with solutions. We will mandate social services, tutoring, and mentorship to address root causes like food insecurity and trauma. My goal is to build leaders, not victims of "the system." I’ll bring transparency back by making court funds open records. I will slash wedding fees from $175 to the $50 city standard and keep the court open Mon–Fri, 8–5. No more closing early on Fridays or talking to machines. When you call, a real person will answer.
I have zero tolerance for animal abuse. I will strictly enforce animal cases to ensure our pets are protected.
Yes, I believe transparency and honesty are the foundation of integrity and trustworthiness. To restore public trust in Pct 2, I will implement three major changes:
Fiscal Ethics: I’ll make court funds open records and slash wedding fees from $175 to the $50 city standard.
Full-Time Access: The court will be open Mon–Fri, 8–5. No more closing early on Fridays or talking to machines; a live person will always answer your call.
Truancy Reform: My Wrap-Around Initiative shifts from hidden fines to open support, using social services and mentorship to fix root causes.
If elected, I will establish a fully transparent and open court. Move past the status quo and restore trust through these three pillars: Radical Transparency: Every dollar the court handles belongs to you. I will make court funds open records and slash wedding fees from $175 to the $50 city standard. Full-Time Access: I’ll keep the court open Mon–Fri, 8–5. No more Friday closures or voicemails. Reform: My Wrap-Around Initiative replaces punitive fines with social services.

Community Involvement
Project Bravo, CAP Volunteer Board Treasurer and Northeast Low Income Representative, former PFLAG Board Member
I have dedicated my life to serving the community. I was born and raised in Northeast El Paso, attending quality YISD schools and graduating from Parkland High School in 1988. I am the only candidate with a formal legal education, having graduated from law school and passed the Oklahoma Bar Exam in 2009. My first career was in residential property management, giving me a deep understanding of lease contracts and evictions.
Obtaining justice for underserved communities has been my focus since law school. For the last 7 years, I worked in administration with Estrella del Paso, the largest free immigration legal service provider in El Paso. I also serve as the volunteer Northeast Low-Income Representative and Board Treasurer at Project Bravo, El Paso County's Community Action Program. The Justice of the Peace role seems like a good way to continue my service to the community.
The best way to promote public trust is through transparency. While sensitive litigant information should be protected from public view, at the very least, case completion numbers should be registered for the public to know the court's efficiency and performance.
Voters have expressed frustration with current limited and varied office hours and failure to answer phones and return calls promptly. The People's Court must serve the people.
I will work to improve accessibility to the court. The People's Court should provide excellent service and attention by answering phone calls and promptly returning calls and ensuring reliable office hours and staff availability. I will improve efficiency in case completions because you should not have to wait unnecessarily for justice.
If UTEP gets a law school, I will work to create a robust legal internship program to benefit law students and the Courts.
