Texas County Courts at Law are trial courts with concurrent jurisdiction over many cases with the district courts and county courts in the county. The County Courts at Law were created by the Texas Legislature for the counties with larger populations to aid the single county court in its judicial functions. Each of the county courts at law was established by an individual statute; they vary widely in scope.County Court at Law No. 3 handles family law cases. Such cases include divorce, cases involving Child Protective Services, termination of parental rights, adoption, protective orders, paternity, and child support. Term: Four (4) years
