VOTE411 Voter Guide

State Representative, District 3

The Texas House of Representatives is one of two chambers that make up the Texas Legislature. The representative is one of 150 representatives from separate districts across the state. Working with the Texas Senate, the Texas House considers proposed laws and resolutions, considers proposed constitutional amendments for submission to the voters, appropriates all funds for the operation of state government, and periodically redraws federal and state congressional maps. All bills for raising revenue considered by the legislature must originate in the House of Representatives. The House alone can bring impeachment charges against a statewide officer, which charges must be tried by the Senate. Current annual salary: $7,200, plus $221 for every day the Legislature is in session, including any special sessions. Term: Two (2) years

I’m not a politician—I’m a wife, mom of five, “Lovie” to six grandkids, and a longtime member of this community. I’ve always stood up for people who needed help, from childhood to today. Protecting others is who I am, and that’s exactly how I’ll show up for you: listening, caring, and fighting for our families and our community.
I’ve proven I can take on powerful interests and win. I secured a rare shareholder settlement after a billion-dollar bankruptcy, helped families challenge government and corporate overreach during COVID, and led efforts that resulted in the toughest statewide hand-count audit in recent Texas history. I’ve fought in court to enforce election law and transparency.
I support restoring local control of education to parents and communities, not distant government mandates. Parents and teachers—not bureaucrats—should decide what is taught in classrooms. As school choice expands, I will fight to ensure public schools are strengthened not abandoned or forgotten. I want every Texas child to have access to a quality education.
Healthcare costs are driven by government interference, cronyism, and special interests—not free markets. I support removing barriers that limit competition, transparency in pricing, and expanding direct-pay options. The state should reduce mandates, protect patient choice, and encourage innovation so markets can lower costs and Texans can access affordable care.
Texas has strong election laws, but they are not being enforced. After five years studying Texas election law and processes, it's clear that lawlessness is the problem with both security and access. I support enforcing existing laws, adding real penalties for officials who repeatedly violate them, and ensuring secure, transparent elections that protect every lawful vote.
Real economic growth comes from empowering workers and small businesses, not subsidizing corporations. I support lowering taxes for everyone, cutting regulations, and ending crony deals that make taxpayers fund private profits. Texas should create a fair, competitive climate where entrepreneurs can grow, wages rise, and good-paying jobs come from free markets—not government handouts.
Texas must protect water while respecting private rights. I support improving infrastructure to reduce waste, incentivizing conservation and reuse, and increased transparency in water districts. The state should prevent monopolization of water resources, protect landowners’ rights, and ensure local control so water policy serves communities—not special interests—while securing long-term supply.
Property taxes are crushing families, seniors, and small businesses. Eliminating them is a top priority, and I will work to replace them. No Texan should be taxed out of their home. I will also fight cronyism and special interest deals that drive up the cost of living. Government should stop picking winners and losers and let open markets lower costs for Texans.
