After 27+ years as an air traffic controller, I retired grounded in teamwork, respect for the rules, and accountability. I’m a union member with a degree in political science/history, a mother, & a fur-baby parent. I grew up in a working class family in Pittsburgh, where potholes build character. Now I live here, where the heat does the same. Either way, I learned how to adapt and keep moving.
I understand Texas election law, party rules, and what it takes to run a Democratic County Party day to day. My focus is on infrastructure over optics. In the 18 months since I've taken office, MCDPTX has increased our # of precinct chairs by about 17%, almost paid off a 5-figure debt from 2023, and recruited more local Democratic candidates than we've had in the past 20+ years.
We need to expand our efforts to listen & meet people where they are. We need to help residents understand how their government works, and how it can work better for them. This means we need to strengthen our precinct level organizing, partner with community members, push harder to make our gov't leaders accountable, & continue to lobby for better, more accessible voting laws.
Shiriki Davis is a charismatic woman of God, a leader at heart, and a catalyst for meaningful change who is committed to advancing equity and opportunity in her community.
I hold a degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology and work as an Executive Renal Account Specialist with a pharmaceutical company. I am actively involved in community service and philanthropy and bring strong communication, leadership, and a commitment to service to this role.
If elected, I would strengthen the party by prioritizing community outreach and expanding political education and candidate opportunities to encourage greater community participation and collaboration.
