I’m a mom of two young daughters and a small-business owner who understands the everyday challenges families face in our community. My experience juggling work, school schedules, childcare, and rising costs reflects what many parents here live every day. Being active in my daughters’ school and our neighborhood gives me a grounded, realistic perspective on the needs of our district and a practical, family-focused approach to addressing them.
One major issue is the need for stable funding and stronger support for our public schools. Families want consistent class sizes, reliable staffing, and the resources kids need to learn and feel safe. As a mom, I plan to work with parents and school leaders to support predictable funding and meaningful investments in our classrooms.
Another major issue is childcare, after-school care, and transportation. Many parents are juggling pickups, long waitlists, and limited options. I support expanding childcare and after-care availability and improving local transportation so families can manage their days with less stress and more stability.
Improving living standards for lower-income families includes expanding access to affordable childcare and after-school programs so parents can work stable hours. I support strengthening public school funding, as strong schools provide essential support services for students and families. I would also look for ways to improve transportation options, reduce barriers to assistance programs, and support community partnerships that help families meet basic needs.
I bring a combination of lived experience, education, and service that reflects the families of this district. I am a lifelong Fort Bend County resident, a public school teacher, and a business professional. I grew up in a working class family that relied on community and government services, which shaped my understanding of how policy affects real lives. I hold a BBA, an MBA, completed the Rice Advanced Management Program, and I am committed to listening, showing up, and serving with integrity.
Strong public schools and affordability are the most pressing issues facing our district. As a public school teacher, I see firsthand how underfunding, staffing shortages, and growing student needs impact classrooms. I will advocate for sustainable school funding, support for educators, and expanded career, technical, and apprenticeship programs so students are prepared for college or the workforce. Affordability is also a major challenge, with rising property taxes, insurance costs, and healthcare expenses. I will support fair and transparent tax policy, protect essential services, and work across the aisle on practical solutions that help families stay in their homes and communities.
I would focus on policies that lower everyday costs and protect essential supports, including fair property tax policy, addressing rising auto and home insurance costs, and protecting access to healthcare and mental health services. As a public school teacher, I will advocate for strong school funding and workforce pathways like career and technical education and apprenticeships. I will also work to protect community based programs that help families with food, utilities, and healthcare.
