Biographical Information

What training, experience and background make you the best qualified candidate to be your party’s nominee for this office?

What are the two (2) most pressing issues that you will face in the office that you seek? Describe your specific plans/ideas for addressing these issues.

I have been in leadership positions since enlisting in the U.S. Army. I have trained large organizations to lead large organizations. I have direct experience in Homeland Security, Emergency Services and Veterans Services. The County Judge has direct responsibility over these departments as shown on the County’s Organization Chart. I believe my military leadership expertise coupled with my legal background make me the best Candidate. This election is not about education but leadership.
(1) Lack of integrity and transparency (2) Fiscal responsibility. The first is addressed by setting the example. No "back room" deals that leave the residents wondering who is getting rich. Ensure that all County Employees follow the Code of Ethics. The 2d one is harder because I'm not the only vote. The goals would be to immediately stop budget deficits; identify and eliminate unnecessary expenditures; and eliminate the County’s debt as quickly as practicable. I cannot get tax reductions as long as the County is in debt. No tax increases. Identify opportunities for new revenue. Add industry to the tax base. Maximize use of State/Federal dollars. "Right Size" the County workforce.

I am a business owner of 20 plus years with knowledge in Commercial/Residential Real Estate, Construction, Mortgage and Insurance. I hold a bachelor's degree in business management with a minor in Human Resources. I have also held in the past a couple securities licenses as well which allowed me to prepare customers for retirement through life insurance products. As the county CEO, I would be well equipped to handle and address the needs in all aspects of the county government.
The first most pressing issue that I see in our county government is the lack of allocating county funds properly to much needed services that we use in our court system daily. One example is Child Advocates of Fort Bend and the lack of attention they are receiving when in fact we utilize this nonprofit daily in our court rooms. I would like to see our non-profits that cater to our community needs receive their fair share of county funding. The second most pressing issue is law and order and safety of our residents. Our current Sheriff department should receive enough funding to be able to compete with neighboring agencies, so we are not losing our skilled men and women due to lack of pay.

I am the most qualified candidate because I have led at scale in both the public and private sectors. I hold a Ph.D. in engineering and lead an engineering firm with over 400 employees and 13 offices across multiple states. I have served three terms on Sugar Land city council and currently oversee a state board budget more than seven times larger than Fort Bend County’s, giving me unmatched experience managing complex operations and taxpayer dollars.
The two most pressing issues facing Fort Bend County are rising property taxes and infrastructure strain from rapid growth. As County Judge, I will focus on fiscal discipline by auditing spending, prioritizing essential services, and preventing waste so families are not taxed out of their homes. I will also address infrastructure and flood control by applying my engineering expertise to improve roads, drainage, and flood mitigation while holding developers accountable to ensure growth is responsible, safe, and sustainable.

I served 5 years on FBISD and 7 years as Fort Bend County Judge which means I need no "on the job" training. Since taking office, Fort Bend has had no tax rate increase, while providing superior services with a focus on infrastructure, mobility and public safety. My office successfully secured over $600 million in grants to provide critical services at little or no cost to taxpayers. I also led the effort for the construction of a state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center.
Public Safety is my top priority. Our office will continue funding public safety and pursue every available dollar in grant funding. Our Office of Emergency Management will continue to provide emergency services across Fort Bend County and support local jurisdictions. Economic Development is also important so that Fort Bend County continues its dynamic growth where residents have the best place to live and work. It is vital that Fort Bend continues to attract businesses to our community so that Fort Bend residents can work where they live. I led the effort to create the Office of Economic Development in 2022 which is responsible for nearly $2 Billion in economic development projects.
