County Probate Courts hear cases involving probate of wills of a deceased person, declares heirs of a deceased person who died without a will, establishes guardianship for incapacitated persons and minors, supervises court-ordered involuntary mental health commitments, and hears lawsuits involving an estate or a decedent or ward or suits by or against a personal representative of a decedent’s or ward’s estate, and actions by or against a trustee. Must be a US citizen and 2-year Texas resident at least 25 years old, a practicing lawyer or judge, or both combined for at least 4 years, and have lived in Tarrant County for at least 6 months. 4 year term.
