Why are you running for this office? What are your top priorities?

Relevant Experience Central Council of PTOs Moderator, Town Meeting Member, Wellesley Scholarship Foundation Treasurer
Wellesley has a strong foundation in our schools, but there is room for growth and improvement. I am running for School Committee to advocate for changes that improve our schools and students’ experience.

My priorities are: 1) Engaging in serious conversation about the strengths and weaknesses of our elementary literacy program; 2) Making meaningful changes in District, School Committee and community communication; 3) Advocating for resources to fulfill the 2023-2028 WPS Strategic Plan initiatives.

In my leadership roles in community organizations, Town Meeting and the school PTOs, I have brought together complex constituencies and listened to all sides to achieve the best outcomes for our community. I will bring the same balanced, thoughtful approach to Wellesley’s School Committee.
Relevant Experience School Committee, TMM Prec B since 2018; DEI Task Force; Board leadership: WEF, WSF, Teachers21, PTO
During my six years of service on School Committee, I have had the privilege of serving in a leadership role for five of those years. I am seeking re-election to help fulfill the Committee’s current priorities including: bring the FY25 school budget to Annual Town Meeting; roll out the WPS strategic plan; strengthen communications with the community, and bring online two new elementary schools. I also wish to build on work I began during my second term: support WPS strategic plan execution and help communicate the progress; continue work on initiatives related to WPS and the Town’s commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, given my belief equity & excellence are inextricably linked, as are a sense of belonging & feeling valued; and complete the Hunnewell Track & Field Phase II projects
