Describe your leadership experiences.

If elected, what will be your top 3 priorities?

What strategies would you support to reduce the impact of increasing development?

What role should city council play in encouraging affordable housing options?

I’ve proudly served my community for 16 years—eight as Mayor and eight on City Council. In addition, I’ve led two agencies and currently serve as President of the Municipal Association of SC.

I follow a servant leadership model, staying accessible to feedback and working every day to improve my hometown of TR.
My top priorities are ensuring our public safety departments have the resources they need as our city grows, guiding smart and sustainable development through thoughtful zoning and planning, and preserving our small-town character by protecting and promoting our history and historic sites, expanding our parks, and enhancing connections to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
At the City of Travelers Rest, we began investing in thoughtful planning well before TR became a popular destination, anticipating the growth brought by the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Main Street improvements.

Our efforts have focused on smart zoning initiatives, including creating a downtown overlay district, allowing attached dwelling units, and implementing comprehensive master planning to guide responsible development.
City councils can promote smart, affordable development by allowing attached dwelling units, incentivizing workforce housing, and supporting smaller housing footprints; such as duplex zoning.
