I currently chair Recreation and have served on Mauldin City Council since January 2022. In that role, I’ve worked with residents, city staff, and community partners to expand opportunities for families and strengthen quality of life in our city.

Professionally, I bring more than 20 years of leadership at the intersection of strategic planning, brand development, business growth, and staff training. My experience spans media, marketing, financial services, athletics, and governance — and throughout, I’ve been known for building strong teams, developing people, and creating strategies that last.
Smart Growth & Infrastructure – Ensuring that Mauldin’s growth is sustainable by addressing stormwater management, zoning, and balanced development while preserving our neighborhoods and small-town charm.

Support Economic Vitality – Championing small and locally-owned businesses with incentives, resources, and smart economic development to keep Mauldin thriving as a place where residents don’t have to leave the city for dining, shopping, or services.

Quality of Life & Community Spaces – Expanding parks, recreation, cultural events, and connectivity (like the future Swamp Rabbit Trail extension) to create a healthy, active community where families, seniors, and young professionals alike can live their best lives.
We’ve made progress with stormwater, and the next step is smarter growth — making sure roads, sidewalks, and drainage are ready before new projects break ground. It’s about planning ahead so development doesn’t outpace the services people rely on every day.

As we grow, we have to protect what makes Mauldin feel like home. Growth should add to our quality of life, not take away from it. We need to pair new development with investments in infrastructure. When growth is planned with the community in mind, everyone benefits.
This is something I think about a lot: As my kids are heading off to college, can they afford to return to Mauldin? As we look at our housing strategy, we can expand affordable housing by updating zoning laws, encouraging density near transit, and supporting mixed-use developments.

Council’s role is to balance growth with affordability. That means working with developers to include affordable options, exploring incentives for workforce housing, and making sure zoning supports a range of housing types. At the same time, we need to protect the character of existing neighborhoods while giving young families and seniors more options to stay in our community.
