I have had the honor of serving as Judge of the 224th District Court since January 1, 2023. I serve this community by working diligently, treating everyone who comes before my court with dignity and respect, and faithfully following the law. Before taking the bench, I practiced in various areas of the law. I practiced extensively in civil litigation from assisting victims of domestic violence in obtaining protective orders to representing individuals injured through no fault of their own.
The best interest of the child is always the Court’s primary concern. When both parents are competent, the Court considers all relevant factors in determining possession, access, and parental rights and duties. Whenever it is in the child’s best interest, children should have meaningful relationships with both parents. The Court’s role is to support families in fostering those relationships while ensuring the child’s safety and well-being.
I will continue working hard on behalf of the people of Bexar County to administer justice swiftly and fairly. I am proud of my work as Presiding Judge of the 224th District Court. The Office of Court Administration, the entity charged with holding judges accountable, has published statistics reflecting strong case disposition rates in my court. To the extent any backlog exists, I remain committed to eliminating it through diligent case management.
The Legislature has imposed new statutory deadlines in certain civil matters. Additionally, the Supreme Court of Texas is in the process of publishing rule changes in the area of court and case administration. My goal is to ensure full compliance with any new changes, and minimally impact administration of our docket and access to justice by the public.
I will absolutely continue to perform same sex marriage ceremonies. In 2015, the United States Supreme Court upheld same sex marriage as constitutional in the Obergefell decision. Therefore, not only am I legally authorized to perform marriage ceremonies for all, I have always supported the LGBTQ+ community, and I will continue to do so.

Increase the number of Courts and or Associate Judges. Use of retired Judges part-time to hear cases via zoom or outside facilities. Increase the number of personnel to handle the processing of cases. Have meetings with the attorneys to narrow the issues and encourage them to resolve cases through mediation where practicable. Not all cases can be mediated.
I would like to see that the Servicemembers Relief Act (SCRA) is given more reverence. I would like to see more education of the community of the legal process and their civic duty. I loved the mantra of the Burlington Coat Factory: “an informed customer is the best customer.” A more educated community may be less litigious or better prepared to move things along. Recognition of First Responders as our daily heros and the sacrifices they and their families make to protect and serve us.
I would follow the law with regard to performing marriages.
