As a 20-year Navy veteran, Tony Gonzales is deeply committed to fighting for America and defending the values that make it the greatest nation in the world. As a father of six, Tony Gonzales is personally invested in creating a brighter, safer and more prosperous future for the next generation. And as the successful incumbent for the previous three terms, Tony Gonzales knows what it’s like to continuously deliver tangible results for one of the largest districts in the nation.
Making our communities safer, more prosperous, and more affordable so that everyday families can enjoy the results.
In South and West Texas, healthcare is still inaccessible to many families. In some cases, this even applies to our veterans who sacrificed so much for our nation and yet can’t receive timely care. Part of this is due to a lack of adequate facilities, but it’s just as important to create a more transparent, efficient, and simplified healthcare system that eliminates unnecessary expenses or surprise costs.
Under our Constitution, Congress has the “power of the purse”, and upholding that duty is a key pillar of our democracy. The American people entrust its representatives to maintain balance within our government by ensuring that no single branch can overshadow the other. This is the only way to preserve the many freedoms that we enjoy as Americans.
The American Dream must always be within reach for those who are willing to work hard, follow our laws, and contribute positively to our great nation. We need to fix the broken bureaucracy that defines our legal immigration system while ensuring that border security is strong and that our immigration laws cannot be exploited.
In Texas, we are blessed with many natural resources and some of the lowest energy prices in the world. In order to keep it that way, we need to protect the energy economy and ensure it remains healthy on a long-term basis. Not only does this benefit American families— it keeps us independent from foreign energy sources.
I am a Marine Corps combat veteran with experience in reconnaissance, as a winged Naval Aviator, and later as a logistics officer and foreign advisor. I have over 25 years of real leadership experience. After service, I managed logistics for Walmart Distribution, supported Airbus, and now oversee logistics operations for Holt CAT in San Antonio. I bring extensive business and logistics expertise to federal service.
My top priorities are strengthening border security, supporting families, and improving outcomes for veterans. Our district needs a secure and orderly border to ensure community safety. Strong families create strong communities, and government should support them with transparency and stability. Building American families back will have a positive upward effect on the country. As a veteran, I want to streamline care and reduce delays for those who served.
I believe the best way to provide affordable health care is to reduce the regulations that limit competition and drive costs above world averages, especially for prescription drugs. Government should focus on controlling prices through transparency and fair market reforms, not by dictating medical decisions. When we open the market, increase supply chain efficiency, and let doctors and patients make the decisions instead of bureaucracies, costs will come down and access will improve.
Congress has a duty to uphold the Constitution by acting as an independent check on both the executive and judicial branches. Writing clear laws, holding hearings, demanding accountability, and ensuring that no branch exceeds its authority. Congress should represent the people, not political parties or bureaucratic pressures. By exercising oversight, controlling the budget, and insisting on transparency, Congress can restore balance and keep government operating within its constitutional limits.
I support legislation that maintains secure borders and builds on the progress already made. A secure border is the foundation for any serious immigration reform. I also support expanding the use of technology to improve trade processing, strengthen vetting, and make legal immigration more efficient. We should welcome those who follow the law while ensuring safety, order, and accountability at every step of the process.
America needs reliable energy using in country sources. Natural gas and hydrogen are abundant, cleaner, and under-utilized. I will continue to support our hardworking oil and gas workers while reducing dependence on coal. there are emerging energy sources that need research and technology to fully develop; Texas is the perfect place for those new industries. The goal is a balanced energy mix that keeps costs low, strengthens our grid, and protects the environment through innovation, not mandates
