Experience, and over 20 years of public service to my city in various roles, including local, regional, and statewide organizations, is what qualifies me for this position.
Economic opportunities through support for local businesses, creation of vibrant retail districts, and destination growth that attracts visitors, all help reduce reliance of local property taxes, the primary source of revenue for most municipalities in Texas. Achieving these goals require smart growth in the form of thoughtful development that strengthens neighborhoods and allows infrastructure to keep up.
On a micro level, interlocal agreements such as those currently in place with our core Best Southwest partner cities of DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster, allow Cedar Hill to share resources and administrative functions that enhance efficiency and service delivery for the benefit of our citizens and those of the region. Participation in the North Central Council of Government (NCTCOG) strengthens the collective power of our community providing greater opportunity on a larger scale.
Transparency, respectful communication, and inclusiveness are essential to protecting residents from discrimination in all aspects of daily life including housing, employment, access to city services, and education. Implementing ordinances and guidelines, when necessary, ensure these and other rights are protected.
Cedar Hill has recently contracted with a transportation and shuttle service to provide mobility options to residents in the absence of traditional public transportation options. Alternative solutions such as bicycle rentals or intra-city shuttles might also enhance mobility.
Growth, public safety, keeping up with infrastructure, protecting green space, and maintaining the city's character are among the greatest challenges on the horizon. Thoughtful development, promoting economic opportunity, and embracing diversity, accessible, and inclusive understanding will pave the way for the future of Cedar Hill.

As a lifelong Cedar Hill native and dedicated public servant since age 9, I bring deep community roots and proven municipal expertise. At 22, I became a department director in local government, gaining hands-on understanding of city operations, budgeting, and delivering results on limited resources. My experience launching innovative programs, building partnerships, and organizing community events equips me to lead effectively. I offer fresh energy, age diversity, and a commitment to practical solutions that keep Cedar Hill safe, affordable, and vibrant for all generations.
With over a decade of municipal experience, I know cities must deliver high-quality services on tight budgets. In leadership roles, I've evaluated operations, identified efficiencies, cut waste, and reallocated funds to achieve greater impact without an increased budget. As council member, I'll prioritize transparent budgeting, explore grants/partnerships, and focus on cost-effective investments in public safety, infrastructure, and schools. My approach is fiscal responsibility that maintains Cedar Hill's quality of life, while keeping taxes affordable for residents.
Effective communication and collaboration with federal, state, and regional partners are essential for addressing community needs like public safety, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure funding. I'll advocate strongly for Cedar Hill's interests, ensuring our unique priorities such as growth management, resident safety, and being inclusive of all residents are represented. By building strong relationships and fostering mutual understanding, I'll secure fair treatment, resources, and support that align with our local values while promoting cohesive solutions across government levels.
As a minority and advocate for fairness, I am committed to ensuring every Cedar Hill resident is treated equally and with respect under city policies/legislation. I'll support clear, impartial procedures for investigating discrimination complaints, including transparent processes, accountability measures, and training for city staff. Working within our legislative authority, I'll champion inclusive guidelines that promote equity, build trust across diverse communities, and reflect Cedar Hill's welcoming spirit—protecting all residents from bias in services, housing, and public interactions.
Cedar Hill's growth demands better connectivity to support our economy, reduce congestion, and improve access to jobs, education, and entertainment. While we partner with STAR Transit for flexible, on-demand options (including connections to DART), I'll advocate for expanded, safe, reliable services—such as more routes linking neighborhoods to major hubs. This will ease traffic, boost workforce mobility, and make our city more inclusive and attractive for families and businesses, all while pursuing cost-effective partnerships and grants.
Cedar Hill's rapid growth brings opportunities to enhance our quality of life, but challenges include keeping infrastructure, services, and schools ahead of demand. My top priority: stronger partnerships with Cedar Hill ISD to improve education outcomes with high school to city workforce pathways, after-school programs, joint events, and family support—since I believe strong schools boost community morale and property values. We'll need to invest wisely to manage growth responsibly, preserving our natural beauty, all while keeping taxes affordable.
